Moving Day Tips Take a moment to browse through our tips! We want to start out with some very basic tips.
1. Make sure you are home when the movers arrive. This will make moving easy!
2. Accompany the van operator throuhgout the house as they inspect and tag every piece of furniture with an identification number. Make sure you have a good description for each of the numbers.
3. We also recommend that you mark the condition of your furniture at the time of loading. Many people forget the condition of their furniture and the last thing you want to do is settle for anything other than perfection when it comes to your move.
4. Make sure all of your items are loaded and ready for the move. We do not recommend leaving the premises until the loading has been completed.
5. Take a final tour of the house, apartment, or condo to make sure that no items were left behind. Check and sign the inventory and make sure to get a copy from the van operator.
6. Make sure the van operator knows exactly where they are going. This will make your moving experience smooth and painless. Be specific about where to go, and how you can be reached through telephone.
7. Take down your van operator's name, address and telephone number.
Before you leave, take a last look around:
* Is your water shut off?
* Did you turn the furnace off?
* Make sure all of the light switches are turned off!
* Did you remember to disconnect your utilities?
* Make sure all of your windows are shut and locked?
* If you are not returning, remember to surrended your old house keys?
* Don't leave anything behind!
